KARACHI: A man was burnt to death when a fire broke out in a bungalow in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) early on Sunday morning, according to officials.

The blaze erupted in a servant quarter of the bungalow in Khayaban-i-Hafiz, DHA Phase 6, was later put out by fire tenders but not before Ayaz, 40, a house servant, died after suffering up to 80pc burns, said Clifton SP Dr Asad Malhi.

The officer said the bungalow’s owner lived abroad.

Police were investigating the case.
