Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said on Monday that Pakistan will give a "befitting response" to any misadventure "from the enemy".
Replying to a question about the Indian air chief’s recent statement directing his soldiers to "be ready for action at a short notice," the air chief said Pakistan was a peace-loving country, but if the adversary went for any misadventure, "our response to any aggression by the enemy will be such that their future generations will also remember it."
He made the remarks after taking part in Air Force exercises and flying a Mirage fighter jet while on a visit to the Qadri Air Base in Skardu. The Air chief also reviewed the exercises and operational preparedness of Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
The air chief said the exercises were the part of PAF’s routine training, adding: “PAF is a battle-hardened force and we continue to ensure our operational preparedness 24/7.”
Aman said PAF had proven to be the best in the world by carrying out Operation Zarb-e-Azb in a highly professional manner for the last two and an half years, without even a single incident of collateral damage.
The air chief also said that the PAF is in complete synergy with its sister armed forces to carry out all operations to fight against terrorism.

Its good to know that Skardu Air Base has been renamed to honor Air Commodore Abdul Hameed Qadri (RIP).
The officer took an active part in defence of Pakistan during Soviet-Afghan war 1979-1988.
He shot down 2 intruding Su-22s, close to Afghanistan border, in a single sortie during May 1986. Of the original 4 intruders, the other 2 ran away.
He was flying an F-16 and used the aircraft's gun to accomplish this feat during this dog fight.
By the way, a good reminder to the enemies of Pakistan by the PAF boss.
It works very well to keep the morale of the air staff high, their blood boiling and their heads cooled down.

The definition of 'enemy' needs to redefined. In the good old days enemy means they had only one relation - hate and war.
In our case we have enemy whose members are popular stars in entertainment who get paid by the enemy while on the other side the enemy's culture and entertainment is loved and liked and people pay for it.
Both enemies play tournaments and appreciate one another.
Isn't it a confusing enemy definition. This is like a part time enemy. I hate you yet I like you- equal on both sides.
And I am always amused at this like ' teach a lesson' which both parties use generously.
Today it is difficult for a father or mother to get their own children to toe their line. No one can teach anyone anything. That is a one way street with a dead end.
Routes and paths need to be changed. Else we are fooling our owns elves and wasting time and resources.
The drain on exchequer is so high that a few days of war has the potential to make us pay for a decade.

India and Indians are getting jittery. The CPEC is making them nervous and they getting desperate by the day. Indian leadership knows it cannot afford to have a strong Pak next to China on its borders, which will basically result in a check mate for India, therefore, India is doing everything possible to provoke Pak. Pak and Pakistanis need to be vigilant and of course the best action to this Indian aggression is to handle the situation calmly and Pak does not need to get carried away otherwise Pak will play right into Indian hands. Pak tactic should be to keep the international community involved and with progress, due to CPEC, India will automatically go kaput.

He was posted as instructor to the PAF, being in Pakistan during the 1971 war. He spoke highly of PAF pilots as being 'hot shot and daring, extremely proficient in combat and gunnery, who lived and breathed flying'. He said his two year posting with the PAF was one of the most memorable times of his life. There could be no greater tribute to the Pakistan Air Force, coming from an American hero and world aviation legend.
