ISLAMABAD, Jan 3: An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted the twin cities of Rawalpindi-Islamabad at 12:05pm on Thursday.
The intensity of the earthquake, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s seismological network, Peshawar, was 5.8 on international Richter scale.
According to the preliminary analysis of department, the earthquake’s epicentre was about 300 kilometres north of Peshawar in the Hindukush range.
No loss of life or property was immediately reported from anywhere.
At many places people came out of their houses.
The earthquake was also felt in the Peshawar, Chitral, Northern Areas, and Punjab.—Our Reporter
