Sindh govt to provide many sports opportunities to youth: Saleem Raza

KARACHI: Sindh government will continue to provide many sports opportunities to the youth in the province under the patronage of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Sports Minister Sardar Mohammad Bux Mahar while several major sports events will be held in the coming months as well.

This was announced by Sports Secretary Sindh Saleem Raza here at the impressive and colourful closing ceremony of the National Beach Games 2017 held here on Sunday. Sindh Bhitai team bagged the top position in the Beach Games by winning the netball, volleyball and sepak-takraw events.

Saleem, a great sports enthusiast himself, lauded the high standard of competitions held during the three-days of the Beach Games and appreciated the participation of leading players from the province in the events.

“I am pleased to announce that the Sindh Games 2017 will also be held this year while another chapter of Beach Games will also be staged in 2017 to provide ample sports opportunities to the youth and budding players,” said secretary sports while addressing a big gathering of players and spectators.

In the women’s competition, Sindh Ghazi claimed top spot in the football event, Larkana won the mens shootingball event, Gilgit Baltistan won the mens tug of war, kodo kodi was won by Sachal while malakhra event was bagged by Benazirabad.

Directors Sports Shehzad Pervaiz Bhatti, consultant Razzaq Rabbani and media committee head Ghulam Mohammad also spoke on the occasion.
