DERA MURAD JAMALI: A protest rally was held in Dera Murad Jamali on Sunday against the kidnapping of a local businessman and the son of former senator of JUI-F, Hemien Das.

The Hindu businessman, who was identified as Vikram Kumar Ajwani, was sitting in the rice mill of his father in the town late in the night when some armed men came in a pick-up and took him with them on gunpoint.

A joint meeting of JUI-F local leaders, Citizen Action Committee, Anjuman Tarjran and other organisations condemned the kidnapping of Vikram Kumar and criticised the performance of police and other law enforcement agencies.

Speakers on the occasion said that law and order was deteriorating with every passing day and people were being kidnapped for ransom while cases of theft, motorcycle snatching and road robberies had increased manifold.
