KARACHI, Aug 3: Two persons committed suicide, another man was shot dead while a decomposed body was recovered in various areas of the city on Sunday.

A 45-year-old man committed suicide in the Frere town on Sunday, the police said.

The police said that Syed Ali Zafar Zaidi, father of four, killed himself by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his house in Block 63.

The police cited financial difficulties for the suicide, saying that the deceased was an employee of Railways.

A 30-year-old man, Younis Masih, committed suicide in Malir City on Sunday.

The police said that the man had hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his house in Lily Town, Malir City.

The man lived with his widowed mother and had been facing prolonged joblessness.

Both the bodies of suicide victims were later shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examinations.

KILLED: A 45-year-old Afghan national, Toor Khan, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Gulistan-i-Maymar on Sunday.

The police said that the victim was one of the watchmen of the Maymar Complex.

The man’s body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.

The police believes enmity between various groups of Afghan settlers as a possible motive behind the killing.

BODY FOUND: An unidentified and decomposed body of a man was recovered from a pond in front of the Haroon Royal City in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Sunday.

The body was later shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a postmortem report.

After the autopsy examination, the report was reserved by the medico-legal officer.
