THE million-man-march rally was organised by the former Karachi mayor and chief of Pakistsn Serzameen Party Mustafa Kamal. But, according to the media, there were hardly three to five thousand supporters.
However, the peaceful march led to a clash between party workers and the police. The old trend of baton charge was used once again. Even women with their children were not safe during the use of water-cannon and rubber bullets.
The top party leadership was arrested and dumped into police vans like street criminals. In other countries, protests are encouraged and problems are addressed.
