Exclusion of name from ECL sought

Published August 3, 2003

QUETTA, Aug 2: Former chief minister Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi has filed a constitutional petition in the Balochistan High Court submitting that his name should be excluded from the exit control list (ECL), besides granting him a fresh passport.

Mr Magsi has pleaded in the petition that he had paid out all dues in plea bargaining with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the NAB had communicated to the interior ministry to exclude his name from the ECL, but the ministry retained the name.

Nawab Magsi requested the BHC that the ministry of interior be directed to delete his name from the list to help him get a new passport.
