PESHAWAR, Aug 2: An alleged kidnapper and car-snatcher was arrested by the political authorities of the Khyber Agency.

He belonged to the Dara Adamkhel.

Sources said that Amir Saeed alias Charg was arrested by the Khasadar Force, adding that he had been handed over to the Peshawar police on Friday.

KILLED: An Afghan refugee, Abdul Manan, was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Khan Baghicha area on Pajaggi Road here on Thursday.

A labourer, Rehmat Gul, who lived with the deceased, said that he ad found the body of the deceased lying in a pool of blood after he had returned from work in he night. Both of them lived in a rented room.

SUICIDE: A young man, Saeed Rahim, committed suicide on Thursday night after his mother refused to arrange his marriage in the Badhber area.

ARRESTED: Two alleged car-snatchers were arrested, while another escaped, when they were trying to escape towards the tribal area after hijacking a passenger van in the Matani area on Friday.

Nadir Khan was washing his van near a canal in Qadirabad when three gunman, namely Sher Alam, Masil and Afzal had snatched the vehicle and sped away.

Nadir Khan had informed the police, who in turn had alerted police check-posts at all the exit points. Officials of the Matani police had signalled the van to stop but the car-lifters opened fire. The police retaliated and arrested Sher Alam and Masil.
