A bomb apparently targeting security personnel went off in Peshawar's Khattak Pull area, while another bomb was diffused outside a school in Urmarh area during the same hour early on Monday.

A roadside bomb targeting a Counter Terrorism Department vehicle in Shamsharu, Khattak Pull area left two security personnel injured, a spokesperson of Khyber Pukhtunkhawa police told DawnNews.

The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is currently underway.

Bomb targeting school diffused

In Urmarh, nearly three kilogrammes of explosives were found beside a school building.

According to a KP police spokesman, bomb disposal squad was called on site and while the bomb was diffused without any loss of life, the wall of the school building sustained some damage during the process.

Police in the area is currently on high alert and a search operation is underway, the KP police spokesperson confirmed.
