At least PCB Chairman Shehayar Khan knows cricket better that many other PCB chairmen who preceded him, who knew nothing about cricket.

Lets agree to diagree that both Miandad and Shaharyar Khan are out of sync with todays' realities.

well said Aamir Sohail, these cronies are corrupt to the core just our current PM and his cronies. They dare to point fingers at our national hero whose history is impeccable. The only solution to this menace is to get rid of Sharif and Zardari and bring IK and everything would fall into its place. It is time to make a full change and get rid of all cronies including Inzi as he is quite useless as well.

Javed Miadad, you are well aware that Mr Sharyar does not have ability and managing cricket at this this age of 84 yrs persons should take rest and recreation and enjoy life, instead damaging cricket. First mistake in ODI cricket he bought inexperienced unqualified and expired cricketer of 2013 as a captain of ODI Azhar Ali in 2015, which totally failed after 2 yrs he has to reversed. Than in UAE he said Misbah is allowed to play as he like, when team went lost in NZ and Aust, he ask him to resign than yesterday sharyar said Misbah vs Imran, Misbah is best and next day team lost match and all out just 81 runs. Therefore Amir sohail and Javed both right due to his old age he have no knowledge and cricket experienced as well as mind is not working.

Aamir sohail himself was a fixer.Mr shaharyar is gentle man and has respect in India also.

Is Sharyar khan a lawyer? All he keeps doing is suing so and so board. Or saying he will. Pakistan cricket has a lot to worry about. Suing some board should be the last of their priorities. But then every nation has a priority and gains or pays for it.

Cricket legend Javed Miandad is 100 percent right about what he said pertaining to the current PCB chair and his cronies. Similarly, what the former green-shirts skipper and opening batsman Aamir Sohail has said about PCB chair is also true and correct. It's an irony that "movers and shakers" of cricket in the "land of the pure" have no idea about cricket and cricket affairs. They are there just because of their social contacts, family background, sociocultural status, position in the society and connections with the top brass of the country. Whereas on merit, they stand no chance to manage cricket and cricketers affairs in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Unfortunately, same is true in almost all South Asian countries.

@Ayandas - Such a gentleman that he engineered notice to sue BCCI for £60 million. I wonder whether he will still be liked....or are you saying it because you want people like him to lead PCB so it is doomed for failure? i wonder.

I would say Mr. Sharyar is learning cricket with age. I am quite sure in the next 20 or 30 years he would know more about cricket. Miandad has to be patient.

All those who are complaining about Mr khan non cricketing background for them I would like to say even bcci is tuned by non cricketing heads. It's matter of taking right decisions.

Well it is nothing but a blaming game as Pakistan cricket lost its golden period as well as talented players due to lack of true governence.if its remain the same a day will come when Pakistan team will be at last at every ranking.

I fully agree with Miandad....Mr Shehryar is mixing the cricket with politics.....I am sure his comments camparing the best captain, has been given after some dictation from Nawaz Sharief.......

Shaharyar is a career politician and does not know much about cricket. But then, if we look around, this country is being run by those who have no clue about governance.

There is nothing like' Merit' under PMLN government. Shahryar is also illegally appointed as Chairman PCB on political basis.

@Ayandas Oh you don't like him because of 96' quarter final but Aamer Sohail has never cheated or fixed any games. Maybe he wasn't a great player but he was not a cheat.

Miandad need not be so harsh on Sheharyar.he has served PCB well.

I can guarantee half the players are in the team not because of merit but because they have influential links to those who run the PCB. Even players at a local level have preferential treatment and prejudice plays a pivotal role on who gets selected at all levels

There is a difference being a legendary or a great crickter and being an excellent coach. The cricketing world is full of great crickters but very few of them have turned out to be good coaches. Javaid Miandad has been a great crickter but there is no need to have a short fuse.

Everyone has a best before (expiry) date Mr S Khan has never played at the highest level he does not understand the challenges, same goes for Najam Sethi. We need former cricketer to run the PCB, yes the chief executive can be a business person to run the business side of PCB not selection etc.

It is a tragedy that a person, who never played Cricket in his whole life, is Chairman of PCB.

It felt strange that such an experienced bureaucrat like Shaharyar would speak like a loose cannon. A man who does not know anything about the game, and while being chairman of the PCB should not be telling us who was the best captain and how Miandad performed as national coach. I do not support Imran Khan's politics but as a cricketer and a captain very few in the world could match him. Even the legend Diki Bird named Imran as captain of his best eleven from the history of the game.

Its really a good thought to gather all former players and start a campaign against PCB body who has destroyed cricket for their seats .I've been seeing shehryar since I was a kid in PCB board. I hope all former cricketers stand up against the board .

Cricketers can't be good administrators, their past glory egos are just too BIG... All cricket boards the World over are run at the helm by Professionals who are astute negotiators. Boards should be treated like large corporations in private sector...

Miandad has done a great favor by taking notice and attention of this guy

It's obvious Shahryar and Sethi know little about cricket. Spending huge sums of money on PSL doesn't make them an expert either. Miandad knows more about cricket in his little finger. Whether he can be a good coach or not is another matter.

The day he compared Misbah with Imran and talk rubbish about Miandad, Pakistan lost 2nd test with West Indies in a shameful manner. I pity with the old man as he was being told to said all these rubbish remarks for our legends and who is behind all this?

I agree with Javed. Our board is forcing our players to conduct something which they are not supposed to. Our board has almost 700 people working and average board employee is making close to 10 Lakh rupees per month. Don't you think we should reduce our board employees and ppay more to our players who truly deserve to get paid more. PCB is another organization like PIA.

@Sajjad kamran He knows how to add corruption to the board. Why can't he lay off from 700 board members and reduce them to may be 150? What is the need of having 700 board members? Then these members are being paid 10 Lakhs per month an average where as our players barely male 10 lakhs per year.

Miandad needs attention. If everything in Pak cricket goes well, he hates it. He needs chaos in Pak cricket, so that he can make some money bashing it. Nothing more

Shaharyar should refrain from commenting on the subject he knows nothing about. Miandad is an all time great. He is a legend and a cricket icon in this country. Shaharyar was a professional diplomat, he should retire with grace.

Bangladesh was behind Pakistan until corrupt regimes took over Pakistan in 2008. Let compare Pakistan export of goods and services with Bangladesh. In 2001, $ = Rs 61 = 57 Taka. ... Pakistan export was $ 10.5 billion ... BD export = $ 7 billion. In 2008, $ = Rs 62 = 69 Taka. Pakistan export was $25.5 billion ... BD export = $17.5 billion. Thus in 2001, Pakistan rupee was less than BD Tk but export was 1.5 times more. In 2008, Pakistan rupee became stronger than BD Tk but export was still 1.5 times more. How about in 2014? ... In 2014, $ = Rs 104 = 78 Taka (Taka got stronger). So, even when rupee became weaker, this is how export did: In 2014, Pakistan export was $30.5 billion (Import = $ 50 bn)... BD export = $38 billion (Import = $ 41 bn). ... Shows, BD overtook Pakistan in export even though rupee got devalued and became weaker than BD taka. [Note: BD population is 20 percent less than Pakistan, so with same export, their higher export per person means a lot).

As a third party observer, I can tell you that there isn't any batting strength in that test line up. Younis and Misbah have no interest left, Asad Shafiq is average, Azhar Ali is good, the rest are all junk. It does not mean players like Shehzad aren't talented. It means that they have been very poorly managed., and hence even 8 years after making début, he's is hardly a finished product. The blame for that lies squarely at te doir f PCB head Pakistan is perhaps the only full test nation which has an outrightly bizarre selection history. Poor Shoaib Malik must have gone thro several nights where he would have wanted to hang himself ! He's selected after 4 yrs in the wilderness, Scores a double century, Pakistan win. He's dropped for the very next test and hasn't played a test in the next 2 years No wonder, there are no true test players below 30 in Pakistan.

Miandad is partially right. It is not that Shehrayar does not know anything about cricket. It is that Shehrayar is completely incompetent. I read an article that when the current coach was hired, and he asked Shehrayar what the goals were for him, Shehrayar told him to do whatever he feels is right to do! Wow, imagine that! Has anyone ever started a new job where the boss tells him to do whatever he feels like doing? That is the epitome of incompetence!

With due respect to javed miandad and his cricket, great players not necessarily make good coaches. if we look around in international cricket, hardly any ex prominent cricketer is a coach. It is true in football and other games too. Coaching is a skill that needs separate training as a specialist. What is plaguing Pakistani cricket is lack of fitness and mental skills to adapt in various formats of game. Just see strike rate of our players in one dayers and T20 format games, average strike rate > 100% see other countries, key batsman strike rate is >125%. This is why Pakistan rating is at bottom. Even test cricket, Pakistan relatively better rating had strike ratio as second last in the list. I will not be surprised that like BD, Afghanistan will also move up. Our raw talents are agressive but when coached by our so called Pakistani expert coaches adapting 1960 or 1970's batting techniques, just become pathetic. Pakistan had been winning games by our excellent bowlers, batsmen and fielding are akways letting us down. Our varsmstrufgle to hit boundaries or sixes due to lack of physical strength or wrong techniques ( body not in line with bat to give power hit). Shahid Afridi despite his agressive talent was always looking elsewhere instead of direction of stroke plus angle of blade upwards that resulted in high shot and catch. He was wasted like this since many years without anyone correcting him. We can criticize our past or current of PCB easily, but fail to evaluate the root cause.
