KARACHI, Aug 1: The Karachiites on Friday braced for more rains over the next two to three days as the Met Office forecast that more monsoon rains might lash Sindh and Eastern Balochistan shortly.

With civic infrastructure already in tatters in the wake of the current rain spell which began in the first week of July, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said the cotton-belt of Sindh would receive scattered rain during this period.

The city received an average of 2.28 millimetres of rain on Friday. PMD officials said the Met Office observatory at the Airport had recorded 2 mm of rain, PAF Faisal base 2mm, PAF Masroor Base 1.7 mm, Garden 1.7 mm, Baldia 2.5 mm and University Road 3.8 mm.

They added that on Friday the maximum and minimum temperatures had been 30 degrees Centigrade and 26 degrees Centigrade, with humidity at 81 per cent. The PMD officials forecast cloudy weather for Saturday with chances of drizzle or shower.
