QUETTA: A power pylon of 220kV Quetta-Sibi transmission line was damaged by a bomb blast in the Mach area of Bolan district late Saturday night.

Official sources said that militants had planted explosive devices under four pylons of the transmission line supplying electricity to Quetta and other districts of Balochistan and detonated one of the devices. As a result of a powerful blast, one of the pylons was damaged.

On search, security forces found six explosive devices planted under three other pylons. They called bomb disposal squad which defused the devices.

Power supply had not been disrupted to Quetta and other districts, a Levies Force official said.

Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to trace miscreants involved in planting explosive devices and detonating one of them.
