KARACHI, July 31: Three ships carrying containers, soyabean meal and logs are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow because of delay in the expected arrivals. As a result, three ships, Hyundai Stride and Al-Manakh to unload and load containers and Ginga Lenner to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of two.

The ships, which departed included Sima Bahar and Oxford, while Global Progress, Al-Manakh, Orient Stride and Kota Indah are due to sail out on Friday.

Owing to larger handling of the liquid cargo, the total tonnage rose to 0.101m tons comprising 32,193 tons of export cargo and 68,724 tons of import.

The following ships are due on Friday: Wehr Haval, with containers, Mercs Komari, with 2,800 tons of soyabean meal and Faial, with 5,000 logs.
