MUZAFFARABAD: A student of a private university in Islamabad drowned in a reservoir while picnicking on the outskirts of Rawalakot on Sunday, an official said.
Shamsul Wahab was among over 50 students and faculty members who chose the scenic Pearl Valley for a daylong sightseeing trip. Wahab took some selfies and jumped into the small reservoir for swimming.
“He claimed that he could swim but while in the middle of the water he lost balance and drowned,” administration official Rizwan Latif told Dawn by telephone.
