Fearing for his life, PPP leader Dr Asim Hussain on Thursday filed a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals who allegedly followed and threatened him.

The FIR was filed in the Boat Basin police station after unidentified individuals followed and threatened Hussain near Bilawal House, police said.

Earlier this week, the Rangers moved an Anti-Terrorism Court to seek timely disposal of a case against Dr Asim and others, citing pressure on private witnesses and a Sindh High Court order that the case be finalised within two months.

Hussain, a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Karachi president, along with some other politicians had been booked in 2015 for allegedly treating and harbouring suspected terrorists, political militants and gangsters at his hospital.
