LAHORE: Terming Panamagate scandal case judgment as its victory, the PML-N workers celebrated the decision of the Supreme Court in the streets of the provincial metropolis while the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) remained confused.

While the PTI demanded the prime minister resign upon losing the moral ground to continue working in his office, the PML-N workers, including women, came out in the streets and chanted slogans against PTI Chairman Imran Khan. They were holding placards and banners bearing pictures of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The PML-N workers brought out rallies in front of Lahore Press Club, Temple Road, Samanabad, Lalik Jan Chowk, Liberty Roundabout and Expo Centre, Johar Town. They chanted slogans in favour of Nawaz Sharif and against Imran Khan.

A PML-N MPAs’ team visited Data Darbar to pay homage to the saint. Lahore Mayor retired Col Mubashir Javed led a rally at Lalik Chowk, a known protest spot of the PTI, and asserted that PTI’s agitational politics had reached its logical end.

“There is nothing to celebrate but something to cry about because the prime minister has been found guilty and will be facing an inquiry by the joint investigation team (JIT) like a common criminal,” said PTI’s Dr Yasmin Rashid. She chided the PML-N for celebrating despite the fact that none of the five judges declared Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as Sadiq and Ameen’.

Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed said Nawaz Sharif would be the only prime minister in country’s history, against whom corruption and money laundering case proceeded in the Supreme Court
