7 killed as passenger bus overturns in Mastung

Seven people were killed and 27 others were injured when a passenger bus travelling from Karachi to Quetta overturned in Balochistan's Mastung district on Friday morning, levies sources said.

Initial investigation revealed the coach driver was over-speeding and lost control of the bus, consequently causing it to overturn near Lak Pass, the sources said. The bus was totalled in the accident.

The injured were rushed to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital in Quetta. An emergency was declared in the medical facility.

Frontier Corps personnel assisted Levies and police forces with rescue work.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
