Four people were killed and nine others injured when a landslide struck a house in Karachi's Baldia Town area early Thursday, police said.

Rescue teams reached the site after receiving reports of a boulder hitting a house in Gulshan-i-Ghazi neighbourhood of Baldia Town and started pulling people from under the debris.

Among the dead are a man, his daughter and son and a guest who had been staying at his residence.

A contingent of police and Rangers also reached the site to carry out evacuation. The injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital.

Rescuers faced difficulty reaching the damaged house due to narrow lanes of the hilly Gulshan-i-Ghazi area.

SP Baldia Town Asif Razzaq while talking to Geo News said all the people trapped under the rubble have been pulled out.

In October 2015, a total of 13 people, including seven children and three women, died as a rockslide hit shanties erected in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar area.
