RAWALPINDI, July 28: Provincial minister for law and parliamentary affairs Raja Mohammad Basharat has announced that a degree college will be established in Siham.

Speaking at inauguration ceremony of the construction works on Dhoke Mustaqeem Road on Monday, the provincial minister said Rs2.1 million would be spent on water supply to Chistabad, Rs1.5 million for the construction of a school at Mehrabad and Rs0.5 million for the pavement of streets at Naseerabad.

He said the government had allocated huge funds for the provision of educational, health and other basic facilities in the province during the current fiscal year.

The provincial minister said the chief minister was giving top priority to the uplift of backward and far-flung areas of the province. MNA Ghulam Sarwar Khan, PML-Q district president Mohammad Nasir Raja, Haji Mohammad Ijaz, Malik Mehboob Elahi, Haji Adalat and councillors were also present on the occasion besides a large number of people.

Mr Basharat said the Punjab chief minister was very keen in the welfare and upliftment of people that he had shown great largess in providing funds for the different areas for development projects in the province.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Sarwar said the PML-Q government would successfully complete its terms. The opposition parties should avoid agitation and come to the negotiation table to sort out different with the government, he added.
