Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Sunday criticised the removal of AD Khawaja as the Inspector General (IG) Police Sindh, exclaiming that the move was made because Khawaja refused to facilitate corruption.

Speaking at a PTI rally in Talagang, Punjab Imran said: "I just read with dismay that the AD Khawaja was relieved as the IG Sindh not because he was involved in illegal activities, but because he was stopping others from committing illegal activities."

On Saturday, the government of Sindh appointed Sardar Abdul Majeed as the acting inspector general of police for the province after relieving A.D. Khawaja from the post.

Taking a more precise aim at PPP, Imran said, "Sharjeel Memon has a Rs5 billion case corruption case registered against him. Dr Asim [Hussain] has a Rs460 billion corruption case registered against him. The total development budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is worth Rs113 billion."

Addressing the charged crowd, the PTI chief took a jab at PPP-P President Asif Ali Zardari, suggesting that he should get his matters sorted before the next general election.

"If you want to compete in the next elections then be prepared because we will definitely question that from where you got the $7 million in Switzerland."

"So Asif Zardari, maybe you should also get yourself a Qatari prince. Even you will need one," Imran added.
