KARACHI: The All Pakis­tan Newspapers Society (APNS), during its annual elections here on Thursday, elected Sarmad Ali its president and Umer Mujib Shami secretary general for the year 2017-18.

Other elected office-bearers are: Kazi Asad Abid (senior vice president), Mehtab Khan (vice president), S.M. Munir Jilani (joint secretary) and Waseem Ahmed (finance secretary).

The annual meeting of the APNS General Council chai­red by Mr Ali unanimously ap­­p­­roved the report of the executive committee for the preceding year and annual accounts of the society.
