LAHORE, July 26: Lahore won the one-day Punjab summer vacation cycling championship on Saturday.

Out of total seven events, Lahore won three events and so did Wapda but due to better position, Lahore emerged overall winner. Sialkot won event.

Lahore’s riders established supremacy in elimination junior race which was won by Amanat and in the team spirit, (Shakeel,Amanat and Tariq Gouri) led them to victory and 10 kilometre junior lap race was won by Muhammad Yousaf.

Wapda owed their success to Zahid Gulam who rode brilliantly winning two successive events, elimination race for seniors and 15 kilometre lap race. In the 5 kilometre individual time (women) Aysha stole the lime light by demonstrating her superior skills.

Muhammad Ashfaq gave success to Sialkot in the only event, the 10 kilo metre lap race.

Secretary Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF), Idris Hyder Khawaja was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away the prizes.

The meet which aimed at further development of the cycling was participated by riders from Lahore,Sialkot,Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Kasur, Faisalabad, Wapda, Punjab.—APP
