KARACHI, July 26: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar has directed that a sum of Rs 1 million each be released to the rain-affected districts so that relief could be provided to the affected people.

He issued these directive while presiding over a meeting at the chief minister’s house.

The CM expressed sorrow over loss of life and property of the people in rains during the last several days.

He urged the relief department to step up relief works and also directed that a sum of Rs1 million be immediately released for the affected districts.

The chief minister also asked the district nazims, district coordination officers, health department and other departments to take steps for shifting the affectees to safer places and make arrangements for provision of food and medicine to them.

He said that relief camps be set up in this regard.

He said that mobile teams be also formed for protecting the livestock.

The CM also took notice of the spread of conjunctivitis.

Presiding a meeting, he directed that arrangements be made in all the hospitals for its treatment.

The chief minister also directed that arrangement be also made for vaccination against various diseases.— APP
