PESHAWAR, July 26: The All Pakistan Clerks Association, Works and Services Department, NWFP, staged a protest demonstration here on Saturday against continuous postings and transfers in the department concerned.

The workers, led by APCA President Zakirullah, took out a procession and held a demonstration at the Baacha Khan Chowk. The protesters, holding banners and placards, chanted slogans against the government and demanded cancellation of what they described illegal postings and transfers in the department concerned.

Speaking on the occasion the APCA president said frequent postings and transfers had created uncertainty among the employees. He said some elements were hatching conspiracies to create a gulf between the government and workers.

The association president proposed to the government separate public health engineering department from works and services department. He also demanded postings of employees in their home districts.

He said if the government did not address their problems, the employees would launch a movement across the province.
