Two new child maid abuse cases surfaces in Islamabad, Multan

Another torture case involving a child housemaid was registered in Islamabad on Saturday after a 12-year-old alleged that she was physically abused and not allowed to visit home for the past four years.

A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged under Section 154 at the Golra Police Station on a complaint filed by the girl and her parents against the owner of the house where she was detained and his mother.

The two were taken into custody and questioned.

The girl named the owner of the house, his mother, his sister and another house servant in her complaint.

The housemaid alleged that she was tortured with hot knives and beaten with leather belts and was not once allowed to visit her family over a four-year period.

This is the second such case to emerge in the federal capital since late December 2016, when 10-year-old Tayyaba, who was allegedly tortured by former additional district and sessions judge (ADSJ) Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife, was rescued from the accused's house in Islamabad with visible wounds.

An FIR was registered in that case against Khan him and his wife, Maheen Zafar, on Dec 29, 2016.

The case has since seen many twists and turns, with the Supreme Court taking suo motu notice after police and a lower court 'mishandled' the case and the child's father changing his testimony twice and pardoning the accused on two separate occasions — allegedly under pressure.

On March 17, the same day this new child abuse case surfaced, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) said it was reserving its decision regarding which court will hear the Tayyaba case.

Multan

In a similar case of torture, a child housemaid ran away from her workplace and found refuge in a vocational institute in the Shalimar Colony area of Multan.

The 10-year-old maid allegedly worked at Kasbah Union Council Chairman Mian Asim's house and was beaten up regularly.

Upon finding the girl at their vocational institute, the women running the centre informed the area's counsellor who told these women to not let the child out of their sight until either her parents arrive to collect her or her employers promise to not resort to violence again.

No FIR or police report was registered in the case.

Shameful.........at least the sou moto action of the court at least reverberates in some parts of society like Police and vulnerable persons are coming forward to demand justice...............That is why if the COURTS fulfill their ACTS we can dream for a better Pakistan.........we all must support our COURTS..............

An epidemic under a corrupt government, spreading its philosophy. With such role models, what does one expect the people in close proximity to the seat of power to emulate? This is happening right under the noses of the federal government in the capital, the Supreme Court and hundreds of foreign missions. What is even more horrendous is the fact that in the first case, the culprits were a sitting High Court judge and his wife~! These are the people who are supposed to uphold the law and people's rights by their deeds and words. Sad, this only reaffirms my lack of confidence in this system. I feel sorry for whoever has to rely on the government and courts to protect themselves, their property and rights.

This is very common in our society. I have seen people swearing on the streets on maids and drivers and this leads us to understand how they must have bern treated in the houses.

unforgivable sin, these innocent kids do not deserve that, parents and employer are equally guilty and the government should take these crimes seriously and implement punishment. It is a menace where people lost their mercy and needs to be dealt with iron hands.

Government must ban such child maids. Only, if they are admitted to school and work part time in houses of child loving families who keep them well cared like their own children, should be allowed.

whoever have power in this country roars give it to anyone we all abuse whats in our hand cause we grew in this system i hate to say but the frustration i feel toward pakistans future .. we all know who looted us how our politicans play with us all they care about their needs and bring their loved ones Next cause we are the most retards on this planet earth aur in 20 crores population ONLY NAWAZ? India Pakistan Bangladesh its going on everywhere, the poor have too many children then these children have to chip in at an early age if they are to eat, the people employing them see them as no more than animals..shame on them..this is tip of a very big iceberg..

Of course the one girl was not allowed to visit her family because she would have told her mother what was being done to her. It is hard for kids to be away from home in the first place. These little maids don't cry themselves to sleep because the are too tired after working 16 hour days.

This reflects the mindset of these people treating their home maids brutally. First of all it is illegal to hire under age child. In order to protect the child from abuse, both parents of the child and the head of the family who hired the child should be thrown in jail. Trial should be quick and fast. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide for the child. No excuse of poverty. This is the only way state can protect the child.
