ISLAMABAD, July 25: Pakistan will be soon proposing to India dates in the last week of August or the first week of September for expert-level talks on resumption of airlinks and overflights between the two countries, government sources told Dawn on Friday. A senior official said these dates would be communicated to the Indian side in a couple of days. The talks will be held in Islamabad.

Pakistan had last week formally conveyed its acceptance of a proposal by New Delhi to start talks on resumption of air links.

In May 2002, India had proposed revival of overflights without resumption of air links, but Pakistan had rejected this proposal as being “self-serving”.
