Success for Pakistani polo team

ISLAMABAD, July 25: A Pakistan polo team won the coveted John Cowdray Polo Trophy held recently in UK, according to reports available on Friday.

Pakistani team defeated UK team which is likely to play in the forthcoming Polo World Cup. The Pakistani team consisted of Samiullah Raja, a promising young player from Rawalpindi, Hissam Ali Hyder, talented youngster of Lahore, Hamid Ali, who captained the side and Atif Tiwana, a seasoned campainger.

Pakistanis defeated UK side by 7 and a half goals to 7 in a closely fought battle that was a thrill for spectators to watch. The win against the UK team won praise from all quarters including the UK team captain John Morley who was highly impressed by the talent of the Pakistani players.—APP
