DADU: Four members of a family were killed and three others were injured when their car collided head-on with a coach at Khasai village on the Sehwan-Hyderabad section of the Indus Highway, 17 kilometres from Jamshoro, on Friday.

The family was going to Swat from Khanoth town in their car and the coach was coming to Hyderabad from Johi when they collided.

The deceased, identified as 65-year-old Khairunnisa, 35-year-old Khaisha Bibi, four-year-old Pakhtoon Nisar Khan and two-year-old Huma Bibi, and the injured as Ms Sehrish, Ihsanullah and Zafarullah, were brought to Manjhand taluka hospital.

The injured were later shifted to Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad branch.

Khanoth SHO Zulfiqar Hyderi said the car and the coach had been impounded but the coach driver had escaped after the accident.

Two students killed

Two students of class eight were killed when a trailer hit their motorcycle on a link road in Kotri SITE area on Friday.

Adeel Bhali and Chakar were going to school when they met the accident and died on the spot. The trailer driver escaped after the accident leaving behind the vehicle.
