KARACHI, July 24: The interior ministry has enhanced the issuance fees of Computerized National Identity Card (CNICs) with effect from Oct 1.

According to the SRO issued on July 23, the Swift Registration Centre will issue CNICs on a fee Rs75 as against the old fee of Rs60 and CNICs on manual applications would be issued on Rs50 against the old fees of Rs35. However, the urgent cards fee will remain Rs180.

Approximately 30 million CNICs have been issued so far while data of around 50 million, including minors, have been deposited in the national database. — APP
