During a high-level meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday, senior civil and military officials unanimously resolved that Operation Raddul Fasaad would continue till the set targets are achieved.

Raddul Fasaad, which aims to indiscriminately eliminate the "residual/latent threat of terrorism", was launched in February in the aftermath of a fresh resurgence in terror attacks in Pakistan.

"The operation reflects our national resolve and commitment to the complete obliteration of terrorism from the entire country," those in attendance at the prime minister's house agreed as they reviewed the gains made thus far under the operation.

The prime minister stated that across the board consensus amongst all stakeholders and the overwhelming sentiments of our people to get rid of terrorism will guarantee a comprehensive win in this war.

“Pakistan has given immense sacrifices in its own war against terrorism and we are fully determined to remain steadfast in our commitment and duty to undertake all steps for eliminating terrorists without any discrimination of geographic region, colour or sect," PM Nawaz said.

The officials gather further reiterated that national unity and support are crucial for the successful implementation of the anti-terror strategy.

Amongst those present at the meeting were Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, National Security Advisor Lt. General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua and DG ISI Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar.
