KHAR: The Bajaur Agency administration claimed to have foiled a sabotage attempt by recovering several bombs from remote part of Salarzai tehsil.

An official said that 12 bombs planted in different places in Raggan area, some 20km from Khar, were recovered during a search operation conducted by the Bajaur Levies on Wednesday evening.

He said that the operation was carried out following information given by the local people.

He said that later all the bombs were defused. He said the bombs could have caused destruction were they not defused timely.

Meanwhile, the Frontier Corps (FC) carried out intelligence-based combing operations in Darange and surrounding area of Orakzai Agency on Thursday.

According to statement by FC, during the operation nine suspected terrorists were apprehended and weapons and ammunition had been recovered from their possession.

A telephone exchange, which was being used by suspected terrorists, has also been seized, it said.
