Operation Raddul Fasaad 'important in elimination of terrorism' in Pakistan: Russia

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Yurevich Dedov in Islamabad on Tuesday to discuss matters of regional security, Inter-Services Public Relations, the army's media wing, said in a statement.

Dedov appreciated the Army for launching Operation Raddul Fasaad, saying it will play an important role in eliminating terrorism from Pakistan.

He said the initiatives taken by Pakistan will boost economic growth.

The visiting ambassador condemned recent terror attacks in the country, saying Russia is aggrieved and acknowledges Pakistan's efforts in its fight against terrorism.

Expressing gratitude for Russia's support, Gen Bajwa said enhanced military-to-military cooperation between Pakistan and Russia promises a positive outcome for regional security.

Pakistan and Russia held their first-ever consultation on regional issues in December last year at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

Relations between the two countries have been growing stronger since the Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu visited Pakistan in 2014. The two countries had at the time inked a bilateral defence cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening military-to-military relations.

All it started when RUSSIA came to Afghanistan and I am increasingly sure that it will end with Russian help. Pakistan, Iran, China and Russia they must sit together to devise some ways to contain the instability within Afghanistan at first place and then do efforts to identify the spoilers and eliminate them to stabilize Afghanistan before it is too late. With Syrian front cooling down and loss of territory in Iraq all of mentioned countries had to work to deny safe heavens to IS right at their borders. As far as Afghanistan is concerned they are playing their historical role by playing at the hands of others this time it is USA and India

such a great decision i think so , first time i feel Nawaz Govt has right to get appreciate with sincere collaboration of pak army which can never under estimate specially in modern era when pakistan is suffering a lot due to neighbour,s misbehave !!!!

@INDIAn if a country is in civil war then providing weapons does not help to stabilize the country. Afghanistan is not fighting with any army or any country is is war torn country with very type of militancy and is serving as forward base for India to support insurgency in Baluchistan and the region

There is no more terrorism in Pakistan. It has disappeared. "It has all been handled." Just interview the interior minister. He will tell you there is no longer anything to worry about.
