SWABI, Jan 2: Load-shedding for eight hours on each Sunday and an hour daily is causing problems to the residents of the area.

For the last three months, the Peshawar Eelectric Supply Corporation staff has resorted to stopping power supply from 8am to 4pm on each Sunday and the comsumers are told that the cauise for the suspension is repair work.

The consumers, however, alleged that Pesco wanted to cover its losses by suspending the power supply on Sundays and public holidays

Due to the suspension of the power supply, patients at the district headquarters hospital and private clinics are also affected as the X-ray and ultrasound machines cannot be run.

Similarly the computer centres are also badly affected because of the frequent suspension of power supply.

The two Pesco divisions in the area has also carried out loadsheding from 6pm to 7pm duirng the last three days.

The people, especially the business community, have appealed to the Pesco officials to stop the frequent suspension of power supply.
