Recovering dues

Published February 26, 2017

I READ with interest the news item that on orders from Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the Federal Investigation Agency has recovered Rs1.47 billion from an oil marketing company.

The demand was created as petroleum levy. The total amount is Rs80 billion only. Surprisingly, such assessments are done by FBR, not FIA. The FBR is or should be under the finance ministry. Some clarifications are required.
