SIALKOT: A protest was held on the main road Gohadpur against the murder of two brothers who were killed at their shop during a robbery on Friday.

The family of victims Waseem Khalid, 45, and Muqadas Khalid, 38, participated in the protest against the police.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards and they chanted slogans against the police, demanding immediate arrest of the robbers. They alleged that the Sialkot police had failed to protect the traders and tracing the suspects involved in the rising robbery incidents.

The traders in Gohadpur observed a strike against the incident and kept their shops closed.

Later, both the deceased were laid to rest in their native graveyard at village Korpur near Gohadpur.

On Thursday, four armed robbers stormed into the electronics shop of Waseem and Muqadas, made all the people present there hostage and started collecting the cash.

They collected Rs250,000 from the shop. When Waseem and Muqadas resisted, the traders opened fire on them and injured them critically.

Waseem succumbed to his injuries at the Govt Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital, Sialkot, while Muqadas died at the Mayo Hospital at night.
