Ghulam Rasool Saeedi

Published February 21, 2017

WITH due respect, I would like to point out that this newspaper failed to mention the first death anniversary of one of our greatest scholars, Allama Ghulam Rasool Saeedi, who died on Feb 4, 2016.

He was the writer of the masterpiece Sharah Sahih Muslim, and also wrote an interpretation of Sahih Bukhari entitled Naimatul Bari. Another book, Tibyanul Quran, is one of the finest interpretations of Holy Quran available in Urdu. His many other notable works include Tazkiratul Muhaddiseen, Maqalat-i-Saeedi, Tauzeehul Bayan, Maqam-i-Wilayat-o-Nabuwat, etc.

At the time of his death, he was in the process of writing a second interpretation of the Quran, entitled Tibyanul Furqan. Four volumes were published during his lifetime; Allama Ismail Noorani is now working to complete the book.
