KARACHI: Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri has announced compensation of Rs1 million to the heirs of those killed, Rs500,000 for severely injured and Rs100,000 for other victims of the Sehwan Sharif bomb explosion.

He made the announcement during his visit to the injured who were under treatment at the PNS Shifa hospital on Sunday. Sindh Health Minister Dr Sikander Mandhro was also present.

Talking to reporters, the chief minister condemned the incident and said attacks on shrines could not be tolerated. He said the military and the political leadership were on one page to root out terrorism.

Mr Zehri said the institutions concerned had attacked many hideouts of terrorists, but the roads could not be blocked by erecting barriers everywhere because it would affect foreign investment.

In reply to a question, he said his government’s effort was to set up modern hospitals in every city.

Dr Mandhro claimed that the Sindh government had managed to shift all the injured to major hospitals within three hours and provide them necessary treatment.
