LAHORE: DawnNews television Lahore bureau senior reporter Tauqeer Ghuman died of cardiac arrest here in the wee hours of Sunday.

He left behind a son, daughter and widow. His elder brother had also died some six months ago.

Mr Ghumman, 43, had been associated with DawnNews since 2011 and was loved for his hard work. He was courteous, jovial and humane and covered courts and Election Commission of Pakistan for the channel.

Before joining DawnNews he remained associated with a number of newspapers and television channels, always making friends wherever he worked.

Besides his relatives, a large number of media persons attended his funeral prayers held in the afternoon at Ichhra’s Pir Ghazi Road graveyard, where he was later laid to rest.

Qul will be held at his residence, 163-E-III, Mukhtar Street, Mohallah Noor, Islam Park, Ichhra, at 2pm on Monday (today).
