ISLAMABAD: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) here on Friday arrested two burglars in a raid and recovered stolen items from them, the police said.
The lead to the culprits was provided by one of the burglars’ sister and wife, who were their partners in the crime and were arrested by the SIU a few days ago.
During preliminary investigation they confessed to a committing number of burglaries in the capital and its adjacent areas, they stated, adding on September 8, 2016 they broke into the house of Doctor Javed Hayat located in Sector I-8/4.
Meanwhile, the capital police along with Pakistan Rangers and other security agencies on Saturday searched various areas falling in the jurisdiction of Secretariat and Industrial Area police and arrested 57 suspects including three Afghan nationals besides recovery of weapons and motorbike from them, they added.
In Secretariat police area, more than 300 houses were screened and 12 suspects were arrested, they stated, adding that police recovered arms three motor bikes without documents while all of suspects were shifted to police station for further investigation.
As many as 45 suspects including three Afghan nationals were arrested from Industrial Area police.
