KARACHI, Dec 29: A container ship, Santa Felicita, was allotted berth at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and coal also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy remained on higher side as five ships, Santa Felicita, Stolt Stream, Aftokratira Trader and Dorric Charriot were busy in loading/unloading containers, chemicals, general cargo and coal.

A cargo volume of 49,516 tons comprising 40,948 tons of import cargo and 8,668 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Stolt Stream, departed, while Santa Felicita was due to leave. Two container ships, Aurora and CMA CGM Chardin, were expected to take berths at QICT.

An oil tanker, Warbah, with high speed diesel oil was due to arrive, while Blanko and Qem Star with general cargo and chemicals were expected to reach the port on Tuesday.
