An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) met Afghan Deputy Head of Mission Syed Abdul Nasir Yousafi in Islamabad on Tuesday to address militant attacks in Pakistan by factions operating in Afghanistan, said a press release from MoFA.
United Nations and European Commission (UN&EC) Additional Secretary Tasnim Aslam raised the "grave concern [Pakistan has] about the continuing terrorist attacks on Pakistani soil by the terrorist outfit Jumaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) [operating] from its sanctuaries inside Afghanistan," the release read.
Aslam also informed Yousafi that Afghan authorities had been informed "earlier" about "actionable intelligence" where Pakistan pressed Afghanistan "to take urgent measures to eliminate the terrorists and their sanctuaries, financiers and [facilitators] operating from its territory," the statement read.
The additional secretary also shared an 'aide-memoire' with the Afghan deputy head of mission, which contained "details of the terrorist attacks and supporting information".
Govt action
Following Monday's horrific suicide attack on Lahore's Mall Road, which claimed 13 lives and left over 100 people injured, Punjab's law enforcement agencies have launched a province-wide crackdown on banned militant organisations.
The body parts of the suspected suicide bomber have been sent for DNA test to establish his identity.
Officials involved in the investigation into the incident said that senior police officials were the main target of the suicide bomber who blew himself up during a protest by chemists.
They said that Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, an offshoot of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan which claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement, had attached a photograph of the bomber to the statement.

@Alba 'most of them do not even have the concept of what a country is,' there lies the problem. Any way they have Americans, NATO and big brother India to help them. But perhaps they also don't want to help Afghanistan for obvious reasons. It's called 'to kill two birds in one stone.'

Pakistan must work actively on Afghan front to consolidate the gains made in WAR against Terror on diplomatic as well as on counter insurgency front. On diplomatic front Pakistan need to actively enlighten Europe and and all other countries except USA (as USA is part of problem) about the persistent support of terror on Afghan soil by Afghan and some other governments complicating the situation not only in Pakistan but also for the World. Pakistan must work all actively in UNSC to convince the member states that there is no option left for Pakistan but hot pursuit of terrorist hosted in Afghanistan. without wasting a single moment Pakistan should start IBO in Afghanistan to eliminate these terrorists. Complete closure of border for all sort of moment must be an option on table if Afghanistan is not ready to mend its ways. This is high time to tell the WORLD that Afghanistan is the problem for the WORLD peace and stability and it is hosting and sponsoring terrorism

No afghani has commented here but indians are jumping in as if it's their country. Funny because they have always blamed the 'foreign invaders' from afghanistaan and central asia for subjugating them and are now taking their side.

No country has done more to help an ordinary Afghan and to provide them shelter than Pakistan. When the war was brought on upon our family in Afghanistan by foreign invaders, it's we the Pakistanis who opened our hearts to our fellow innocent Afghans. The prove of that is millions of Afghans family who live with us in Pakistan. We practically grew up with them and Afghan Pakistanis are our brothers and always will.
Afghanistan government has always been negative towards Pakistan. The action of few Afghan will never be the basis to judge the millions of Afghan Pakistanis who are living with us peacefully. They are in every province of Pakistan and been there for multiple generations. Love, love and love to Pakistanis of Afghan decent. No to hate, we will defeat this hate of terror and their financiers/Abettor together.
