A Frontier Constabulary official on Sunday committed suicide in the Garden area of the metropolis, said police officials.

The FC official resided in the force’s Garden headquarters, added the police official.

“The FC sepoy, Najab Gul, 37, ended his life with his official SMG rifle inside his room in the FC headquarters located on Jehangir Pari Road,” said police officials.

His body was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi for post-mortem examination.

“Gul shot himself on the temple with a rifle,” said Dr Mubarak Pathan, a senior medico-legal official.

The FC personnel was “emotionally disturbed” and ended his life due to it, said SHO Nabi Bux.

His body was handed over to FC officials, Gul hailed from Peshawar.
