Punjab grab U-16 title

LAHORE, Dec 24: Punjab with 30 points won the Inter-provincial Under-16 wrestling  championship held in Peshawar,  according to a message received here on Wednesday.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir with 18 points and NWFP 15  points earned the  second and  third positions, followed by  Islamabad which bagged the fourth spot.

In all eight finals were held out of which Punjab won six.

Results: 40 kgs: Shahadat Ali (Punjab) bt Romal Khan (NWFP) on fall. 43 kgs: Inam (Punjab) bt Adnan (Azad Kashmir) on fall. 47 kgs: Muhammd Arshad (Punjab) bt Asad Mehmood (Islamabad) on fall. 51 kgs: Muhammad Ijaz (Punjab) bt Sheraz Mohammad (Azad Kashmir) on fall. 55 kgs: Muhammad Idrees (NWFP) bt Zaheer Munir (Azad Kashmir) on fall. 60 kgs: Meer Vaiz (NWFP) bt Mohammad Ilyas (Islamabad) on fall. 65 kgs: Falaksher (Punjab) bt Muhammad Munir (Islamabad) on fall. 70 kgs: Ghulam Haider (Punjab) bt Muhammad Farhan (Islamabad)  on fall.
