KASUR: A four-year-girl died after falling into an open manhole at a private housing scheme near the Old Mandi, Pattoki, on Monday.

Aiza was playing in the street near her house in the Zahid Housing Scheme when she fell into the open manhole. Earlier, the family searched for Aiza after she went missing. A family member found one of her shoes near the manhole and raised an alarm. Locals took out the body of the child.

ACCIDENT: A student died in a collision between a motorcycle and a tractor-trolley on Kasur-Kot Radha Kishan road near Maloki village.

Amir, 20, was on his way to home after attending his college on a motorcycle when it hit a speeding tractor-trolley, coming from opposite side. He died on the spot.

ROBBED: Thieves took away cash and valuables from five mosques in Khudian town on the night between Sunday and Monday.

The thieves broke open the locks of money boxes of the mosques, including Jamia Mosque Noor in Rehmanabad, Jamia Mosque Bohr Shah Mohalla Balochanwala, and Jamia Mosque Ahle Hadith Gali Tarkhanawali, and took away cash.

The thieves also took away a UPS and loudspeakers from the Jamia Masjid Ahle Hadith Canal Colony.

BOOKED: A government schoolteacher was booked for allegedly torturing a student over his refusal to get admission to his (teacher) school in Khudian town.

According to complainant Ashiq, teacher Muhammad Ramzan was running his own school in the same locality.

He allegedly forced Ashiq’s son Asif to get admission to his school. On his refusal, the teacher tortured him.

Khudian police registered a case without any arrest so far.
