SIALKOT: A man allegedly tortured to death his daughter after she had a clash with her stepmother here on Monday at Thatha Malikhi, Pasrur tehsil.

Police said suspect Naseer had contracted second marriage with Farzana Bibi after the death of his first wife Razia Bib about seven years ago.

Farzana had sour relations with her stepdaughters Nausheen (18) and Farah (16).

On Monday, Farzana spoke ill of the girls. As a result, Naseer got infuriated and started beating his daughters with clubs. He allegedly attacked them with an axe, killing Nausheen on the spot. Farah was admitted to Pasrur THQ Hospital in a critical condition.

Pasrur Saddar SHO Saeed Hungra told Dawn that police had arrested Naseer and his wife. He said the suspect confessed to his crime.

Police have shifted the body to Pasrur THQ Hospital for autopsy and registered a case.
