Gwadar: land mafia

Published January 24, 2017

THE CPEC has made Gwadar a gold mine. People are craving to get a piece of land there. But this has also activated land mafias who are minting money in collusion with some corrupt politicians and local officials.

They are grabbing land not only in Gwadar but also in adjoining areas like Ormara, Pasni and Turbat, which are included in the CPEC.

More than 1,500 landgrab cases have been detected in Gwadar alone.

Land mafias are causing mental agony to the local people.

This issue should be resolved before it acquires social and political dimensions. The authorities concerned should look into it.
