LAHORE: By-polls for 11 local government seats in Punjab will be held on Jan 24 and, according to an election commission notification, 18 contestants are in the run for these slots.

The election, however, would be held on only four seats as four of the candidates have been elected unopposed and no one has filed papers for the remaining three.

The three vacant seats fall in Jhang (UC 3, Chak 169-JB), Okara (UC-28, Chak 31/2L) and Rawalpindi (Kotli Sattian).

The seats where candidates got elected unopposed fall in Jhang (UC 57, Shorkot), Toba Tek Singh (UC 5, Chak 281-JB), Okara (UC 48, Chak 27/4L) and Rawalpindi (Kotli Sattian).

The elections will be held in Kasur (UC 10, Charay Wan), besides three seats in Rawalpindi (Kotli Sattian).

All these seats belong to general members’ category.

The papers of all 18 candidates who willl go for the contest to be held on 24th were found correct.
