RAWALPINDI: After running for PPP chairperson unopposed, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has begun to organise the party in Punjab.

Flanked by Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Naeem Afzal Chan, Bilawal interviewed candidates for city president and general secretary of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chakwal, Jhelum and Attock at Zardari House in Islamabad.

The leaders presented various options in this regard, including ending the differences between the workers and the leadership, and party leaders’ visits to various cities to interact with workers and revive the party at the ward level.

A senior party leader said the party decided to separate the city and cantonment party organisation in Rawalpindi because it was difficult for one organisation to manage the whole city.

Four city president candidates from Rawalpindi appeared before Bilawal: Babar Jadoon, Chaudhry Iftikhar, Jameel Qureshi and Chaudhry Asad Pervaiz. Nasir Mir, Banaras Chaudhry and Khawaja Imtiaz are candidates for general secretary.

The candidates for president in Islamabad city are Faisal Sakhi Butt, Agha Mohammad Ali, Syed Qamar Abbas and Farrakh Qureshi.
