Dacoit injured

OKARA, Dec 21: A dacoit was injured in an encounter with police near Hujra Shah Muqeem on Sunday.

Some armed men opened fire on Gul Mohammad on a road near Hujra Shah Muqeem. Gul along with a passerby constable returned the fire. In the meantime, a contingent of Deepalpur police also reached the spot and exchanged fire with the bandits. In the shootout, one of the bandits, later identified as Ashraf, sustained critical injuries.

Police arrested Ashraf and his accomplice, Sabir, and shifted the injured to the Lahore General Hospital. Their third accomplice, Saleem, managed to escape.

All three dacoits were identified by Gul Mohammad who had got registered a dacoity case against them. — Correspondent
